Missy Ransehousen
Missy Ransehousen has made her mark on the equestrian world through her chosen sport of Eventing, establishing herself as an outstanding rider early in her career. As a Young Rider, she brought home the Gold Medal from the 1988 Young Rider Championships, where she was also awarded the Good Sportsmanship Award. She received the Markham Trophy, the USET's Highest Placed Young Rider at Fair Hill CCI*** in 1989. In 1995 Missy was a member of the Three Day Event Team for the Pan American Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where the team won the Silver Medal.
With her lifetime top competitive partner, Critical Decision, Missy traveled the world, competing in both Pau, France and Burghley, England. In the USA, this pair also competed 4 times at the highest level of the sport, The Rolex Kentucky 3 Day Event, bringing home an incredible 3rd place finish in 2008! “BG” retired in 2013 after Missy handed over the reins to David Ziegler, who she coached to gold at the 2014 NAJYRC in Kentucky! In addition to being a successful competitor, Missy excels in the training and coaching fields. Missy set aside her own Beijing Olympic Team bid with BG to honor her commitment to the Paralympics squad. Student after student can attest to her commitment to give back to the sport she loves. |
Missy has a lengthy resume coaching Paralympic Teams, including leading the US Para Team to first place at the Pacific Rim Championships in 2006. She served as Paralympic coach in 2000, 2004, 2008 & 2012, and continued to actively coach top international para equestrians, including Rebecca Hart and Margaret McIntosh, through the 2016 Paralympic Games. In addition, she was awarded the USOC Para Coach of the year in 2011!
Today, Missy's top competitive partner is Slow Heart Break, an off the track thoroughbred owned by Dr. Bonnie Kibbie and Jeff Kibbie, that Missy has produced to the FEI level of the sport. In addition to her active competitive and coaching career at home in Unionville and Ocala, she acts in an advisory role for the US Dressage Team, heading to the 2022 Maccabi Games in Tel Aviv, Israel!
