Remi NAME: Jess Brumfield
DOB: Feb. 29, 1988
Jess has been working at Blue Hill Farm since the fall of 2006
Rriding all of her life (literally, since she was strong enough to hold on)
Discipline: Dressage and Eventing

Jess works full time at BHF, riding client's horses and a few of the para horses as well. She is currently eventing Dawn McKersie's mare, River Radiance (pictured here), at the Intermediate level. They won the Waredaca Training 3 day in 2008 and the Virginia CCI* in 2009, and moved up to Intermediate in 2010.

Since Jess came to Blue Hill, she has achieved the USDF Bronze and Silver medals. In 2008 and 2009 she competed Elizabeth Pigott's horse Mr. Darcy through Second level, and Keith Newerla's horse Marlando at Prix St. Georges. Jess feels extremely fortunate for the many opportunities that Missy and Jessica have given her at BHF!

NAME: Rachel Gross
DOB: 02-12-1990
Working at Blue Hill Farm since Fall 2008
Discipline- Dressage & Eventing
Horse- Blackie (Eventing) & JD (Dressage)

Rachel, who is from Houston Tx., came to the Unionville area to originally work for Todd Flettrich. Rachel had expressed interest in eventing and through Missy's friendship with Todd, found her new home at BHF.

She has been working at BHF since 2008, and aside from pitching in with all the general barn work, Rachel is also working with Blackie, a sales horse here from Virginia. Rachel and Blackie have been successfully competing at training level eventing. In 2010 she won her 3rd level test at Morven park with JD in April, and in July had a repeat performance at the Horse Park of NJ. The pair had continued success in the fall, taking home the high score award for the weekend at fourth level with a 68.6.

NAME: Steph Cauffman
DOB - 1989
Riding at BHF since September 2009
Discipline: Eventing
Horses: Touch of the Blarney (Smidge)
2002, 17.2 Irish Sport Horse Gelding
Diligence (Dylan), 2004 16.3 Oldenburg Gelding

Stephanie began eventing in 2006 and found Smidge that September as a four year old. After two and a half years of hard work, this pair came into their own at the preliminary level, and continued on with their success when they started riding with Missy in January of 2009. They were never out of the top three the rest of that season and finished the year taking national reserve honors for young riders at preliminary. Smidge moved up to Intermediate successfully in 2010. The pair will do a CCI** in early 2011.

Steph found Dylan as a five year old in December 2009. They competed at training level in 2010 and completed the Hagyard Midsouth Training Three Day winning the best conditioned award. Dylan moved up to Preliminary in the fall and is aimed at his first one star.

NAME: Madison Lloyd
DOB: 12/26/91
Working at Blue Hill since 11/2010
Discipline: Eventing
Horses: Tenango (Sophie)
2003 16 hand Thoroughbred mare.

Madison is our newest working student at Blue Hill, and she comes to us from Petaluma, California near San Francisco. Madison decided that she wanted to take a year off before college to pursue her riding career. She came east to look at barns, met Missy and the crew and decided BHF was the right fit!

She began riding double with her mother when she was very young and at the age of 5 brought home her first pony, and has owned horses ever since. She purchased her current horse Sophie in 2006 as a green broke 3 year old and they began their partnership together. Madison and Sophie have successfully moved up to Preliminary in 2011 and look forward to completing their first CCI*.

NAME: Jen Cain
DOB - 1987
Worked at BHF 2006 - 2009
Discipline: Eventing

Jen competed City of Heroes, aka "Rio", to Preliminary while working with Missy and Jessica. Jen and sold him in September 2009 to Sarah Nelson as she is completing her studies at West Chester University.

Her greatest riding achievement was in 2006 when Jen was National Senior Novice champion and Reserved champion for Area II Junior Novice Rider with her horse Saint Finnegan. The photo pictured on the right is of City of Heroes at The 2009 Spring Rocking Horse Preliminary Horse Trials.

NAME: Emily Walkup
DOB: 02-12-1990
Worked at BHF 2009 - 2010
Discipline- Dressage
Horse- Hakuna Matata "Kuna" 15 YO Dutch Warmblood/Thoroughbred gelding

Emily has been riding for 9 years, competing in various disciplines, until recently finding that dressage is her passion. She has competed successfully in 3 Pony Club National Championships at Training and First Level Dressage, as well as the Novice Level Eventing. Previously she competed in the Children's and Junior Hunter and Jumper Divisions on the Hunter/ Jumper circuit. Since joining BHF, she has shown Kuna through 2nd level dressage, schooling third and fourth level.
